Blog #3

   Hello everyone,

Copyright is a very common thing in the world now with the advancements of technology over the years and many people have started to adapt to it. Copyright is using someone else's work for your own gain without giving the creator credit or getting permission in advance. It is a very extensive thing and as a teacher i would deal with these things by teaching the importance of it to the students beforehand. Fair use is a thing almost like copyright except you are able to use small bits of the creators work without permission. You are only able to use it in certain situations. For example, you can use maybe a 2-3 second excerpt from a song or article and not need permission.

Technology can lead to a lot of things and one is decreased productivity and that because, once someone picks up their phone or any bit of technology they can get zoned out and stay on it for hours on end. This makes it to where they don't get much done through the day and may fall behind. Also. academic dishonesty, where the student uses resources on the internet or personal notes and cheats on an assignment. This shows the student does not care or isn't trying to learn like they should be in order to complete the assignment on their own. With the adaption of online classes this is more frequent now in school.

While working on my newsletter I gained a few new skills on Microsoft Word. Mostly the creative aspect because I only usually use word for essays and not really art. Doing the newsletter has taught me the many thing you can do on word to create things and get an informational document that looks nice and presentable. These skills can be sued in the future if I ever need to create something artistic on word i have gathered the skills in order to do that on this assignment.

Second Blog Post!! Eric Cline

Hello!

1. My work with Microsoft word throughout my schooling has been abundant but, mostly using word for the normal things like essays/short stories. I never used word much for the other things like making fliers or newsletters, a few time I used word to create them but no where near as much as using it to write up something. I do prefer MS word over all word processing tools. I've used MS word all my life and never got too familiar with the others like Google Docs, Mac OS Pages.

2. ISTE is a very creative way to sum up about everything an educator should shoot to be. Some people don't realize it but educators if you think about it are sometimes in a kids life more than others and don't realize the impact they can have. Knowing what you are talking about and being able to use different tools and technology to teach people different lessons is a very important task when you are an educator. The standard most important to me is being a Citizen. If the educator is able to get to know the people they are teaching and take the time to really pay attention it will boost their teaching level by an amazing amount. I like teachers who will have a nice chat and figure out my strengths and weaknesses and help me through it which is why i treasure Citizen the most.

3. I believe the term digital native really does suit this generation. Everything and I mean almost everything now a days can be done through technology. It is almost unheard of to see things that technology hasn't found a loop hole in. The earlier generations being Digital Immigrants is also pretty true but, I'd also maybe not put them that far out of the circle of digital native. Kids are grown up around technology now and it plays a major role in a kids life. In the near future I could see technology reaching even greater heights and the way teaching is now will also change. The way technology can reshape things is astronomical.

First Blog! EME 2040 Eric Cline

 Hello everyone,

My name is Eric Cline and I am a junior now at FSU. I just transferred to FSU after getting my AA from TCC. I am originally from Oviedo, Florida but after a few things happened I ended up moving to New Smyrna Beach, Florida in the 4th grade. I plan to major in history with a minor in business or communication. I do not have a clear picture what I would like to do but hopefully I figure it out soon and can start to advance through college and through the rest of my life.

I haven't been in many educational setting but some examples i could think of would be using a powerpoint presentation in front of a class. I've had projects where i was given a topic and was supposed to teach the class about the topic, so using technology made that easy by putting together a presentation. Also, theres so many apps now that can make presentations more enjoyable and unique to make people more interested in learning. Another amazing way I've used technology to learn is through Kahoots or clicker games, it makes it very interesting to learn and the competitive edge it brings make it more exciting.

Personal Learning networks that I've been using are things like YouTube, Twitter, Instagram. YouTube is technically a one stop shop for all of your questions. The broadness of YouTube nowadays is so immense it's one of the most helpful tools out right now. Twitter is very nice for keeping up with current events around the world and is probably the easiest form of news and communication on the internet right now. Most the applications I use daily support my learning because I use them to answer all questions I have in a very small amount of time.

Im looking forward to learning about educational technology!
